I wrote on 19, 23 and 26 March concerning the sad and totally unforseen death of my guide dog, Drew (for the post of 26 March, which links back to previous posts please see http://kevin-morris.co.uk/2011/03/26/the-return-of-drew/).
Today my colleague, Alan presented me with the sum of £112.26 which had been raised, by my colleagues in memory of Drew, as a donation to the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. I was very moved by the kindness and generosity of my colleagues but, what touched me even more was the lovely messages which accompanied the donation.
I’m glad that Alan gave me the donation and card, quietly at my desk as I would, I think have become emotional had the money been presented in a big ceremony in front of all my colleagues.
Drew has certainly left a lot of friends behind. Once again a very big thank you to my colleagues not only for the donation but also for their unfailing kindness following the death of Drew.
