FORMERLY BLIND CHILDREN SHED LIGHT ON A CENTURIES-OLD PUZZLE

A friend has drawn my attention to the following article http://richarddawkins.net/articles/616455-formerly-blind-children-shed-light-on-a-centuries-old-puzzle. The puzzle pertains to the question could a blind person on suddenly gaining sight recognise an object by sight that he had previously known by feel. The answer deduced by neuroscientists is “no” but with a twist.
