It isn’t me a poem by james lasdun

In “It Isn’t Me” the poet, James Lasdun explores doubt through the life of a man who’s existence symbolises that of humanity as a whole. Lasdun’s “he” can not settle. He wanted to get married but found “it isn’t me”, he wants to work but can not stay in any job for long as “it isn’t me”. “They” can not comprehend the “he” of the poem but perceive in him some of their own doubts and fears.
